1.Pre-Filtration: The compressed air from the compressor enters the refrigerated dryer system and passes through the pre-filter stage. The pre-filter, typically a coalescing filter or a particulate filter, removes larger particles, such as dirt, dust, and debris, from the compressed air. This helps protect the downstream components and the refrigerated dryer itself from excessive contamination.
2.Moisture Removal: After pre-filtration, the compressed air enters the drying stage of the refrigerated dryer system. The air is cooled using a refrigeration circuit, reducing its temperature and causing moisture to condense. The condensed moisture forms droplets that are separated from the airflow.
3.Water Separation: The air dryer filter, often called a water separator or moisture separator, is responsible for separating the condensed water from the compressed air. It typically incorporates features such as baffles, direction changes, or specialized media to help separate the water droplets from the airflow. The water then collects at the bottom of the filter housing, where it is drained out of the system.
4.Final Filtration: In addition to moisture separation, the air dryer filter may also include a final filtration stage to remove any remaining contaminants from the compressed air.
