What is clutch
The clutch is installed between the engine and the transmission. It is an assembly directly connected with the engine in the automobile transmission system. Generally, the clutch is installed together with the flywheel set of the engine crankshaft. The flywheel set is a component that cuts off and transmits power between the engine and the vehicle transmission system. During the whole process from starting to normal driving, the driver can operate the clutch as required to temporarily separate or gradually engage the engine and transmission system, so as to cut off or transmit the power output of the engine to the transmission system. Its function is to gradually connect the engine and transmission to ensure the smooth start of the vehicle; Temporarily cut off the connection between the engine and transmission to facilitate shift and reduce the impact during shift; When the car is in emergency braking, it can play a role of isolation, prevent the transmission and other transmission systems from overloading, thus playing a certain protective role.
The clutch is similar to a switch and is used to engage or disconnect the power transmission function. The driving part and the driven part of the clutch mechanism can be temporarily separated and gradually engaged, and can also rotate relatively during the transmission process. The drive part and the driven part of the clutch cannot be rigidly connected. All kinds of cars have clutch devices, but they are different.
