In addition, the manual pump has small displacement and poor reliability, which makes it very difficult to exhaust after replacing the filter. Since the engine entered the era of common rail, the fuel system, especially the fuel injector, has become very complex. A small amount of impurities may cause expensive fuel injectors to be scrapped. However, many people continue to use the previous filling method to replace the filter, resulting in unfiltered diesel directly entering the inner chamber of the filter. If the diesel contains particulate impurities at this time, it will directly lead to wear and damage of the fuel injector.
The correct replacement method is to remove the old filter first, and then directly install the new filter onto the filter base. Then unscrew the ventilation bolt on the base or oil pump, and then press the manual oil pump to exhaust until the new filter is full and there is no bubble in the ventilation bolt. Due to the large filtering area and capacity in the current filter, the exhaust process may be slow. Don't be afraid of trouble, just press the manual oil pump several times.
