Engine solenoid valve knowledge
Solenoid valve is an industrial equipment controlled by electromagnetic, and it is an automatic basic component used to control fluid. It belongs to actuator and is not limited to hydraulic and pneumatic.
The engine idle speed solenoid valve is an executive element in the idle speed control system. It is mainly used to control or adjust the idle speed to ensure that the engine emissions meet the standards (requirements), the engine runs stably, and the engine idle speed is kept at the lowest speed (within the specified range), thereby effectively reducing fuel consumption.
Engine Solenoid Valves: Classification
Sort by Control
The engine speed control system is mainly composed of three parts: ECU, sensors and actuators. According to the development of the idle speed control system, there are mainly two types: direct-acting throttle valve and bypass air type.
Throttle direct-acting type: Control the idling air intake by changing the minimum opening of the throttle valve through the actuator.
Bypass air type: Through the bypass passage, the air volume flowing through the idle air passage is controlled by the actuator.
Bypass air classification:
The bypass air type idle speed control system is divided into different actuators: solenoid valve type idle speed control valve, stepper motor type, rotary solenoid valve type, duty cycle type, mechanical type, etc. Here are some common types of control valves.
Solenoid valve type
The inside is an electromagnetic coil, and the ECU controls the current of the coil and the opening of the valve by means of a duty cycle.
I have seen an idle speed control valve with three coils earlier, which is equivalent to three idle speed control valves. The ECU turns on one or two or three to achieve idle control.
