Functions of Oil Filters
The following functions are provided by the oil filter:
1. As previously mentioned, the engine provides dust particles and combustion residues, such as dust, metal chips, oil carbon, etc. The oil filter collects these particles from the oil before entering the engine. The oil filter will clean the engine oil because consistent engine performance depends on the clean oil.
2. Soot enters oil and soil and thickens them. The oil filter consists of several thinner holes to prevent concentrated oil from entering the engine from the pump.
3. If the filter functions well, all moving parts (such as connecting rod, camshaft and valve mechanism) shall be protected to avoid wear and damage.
