What is an Air Oil Separator?
Definition – The oil-gas separator is a filter like component used to separate oil from compressed air.
Function – During the process when the compressor oil is injected to lubricate, seal and absorb the compression heat, the mixture of compressed air and oil flows out of the compressor element. The oil separator separates the oil from the air, because the oil needs to remain inside the compressor to maintain lubrication, while the compressed air needs to exist in the compressor without oil.
Characteristics of oil separator
The oil separator may be short and long most of the time (compared with the width)
On smaller machines and some manufacturers' machines, the separator filter can look exactly the same as the oil filter, but only larger. It can also be screwed on like an oil filter.
Place
The oil separator filter is installed in the oil separator container.
