Fuel Filter Type
Function of filter
The fuel filter collects dust, dust, and debris before entering the fuel system. This prevents contamination in the engine, which could result in costly damage. It is very important to replace the fuel filter when repairing the vehicle.
However, what makes the fuel filter type different?
Which fuel filter type?
There are two main types of fuel filters. One is a plastic or metal container containing filter media. These filters are designed for replacement, not service.
The other is cartridge filter with replaceable filter. Whenever the filter element needs to be replaced, the metal filter container can be opened.
Gasoline filters are usually cylindrical or can shaped, while diesel filters are usually bowl shaped. The required fuel filters vary depending on the vehicle's fuel delivery system. The carburetor engine uses vacuum to draw fuel into the filter through a rubber hose, and then into the engine through the intake pipe.
On the other hand, vehicles equipped with electronic fuel injection systems use fuel injectors to inject fuel into the cylinders. In this high-pressure system, the fuel lines are metal. The fuel line is connected to the filter through a threaded joint.

The fuel filter is critical. They keep the engine running smoothly, avoid fuel contamination, and maintain fuel efficiency. Use the following tips to service the filter at least every 20000-150000 miles.
It is important to purchase the type of fuel filter that is suitable for your brand and model.
