What is the material of automobile fuel filter?
The fuel filter is connected in series to the pipeline between the fuel pump and the throttle body oil inlet. The function of the fuel filter is to remove iron oxide, dust and other solid impurities contained in the fuel to prevent the fuel system from being blocked (especially the fuel injection nozzle). Reduce mechanical wear, ensure stable engine operation and improve reliability. The structure of the fuel injector consists of an aluminum housing and a bracket with stainless steel inside. The bracket is equipped with efficient filter paper, chrysanthemum shaped, to increase the flow area. EFI filters cannot be used with chemical oil filters. As EFI filter usually bears the fuel pressure of 200-300KPA, the pressure resistance of the filter is usually required to be above 500KPA, while the chemical oil filter does not need to reach such a high pressure.
Diesel filter
The structure of diesel filter is roughly the same as that of oil filter, and there are two types: replaceable type and spin on type. However, its working pressure and oil temperature resistance requirements are far lower than those of the oil filter, while the filtering efficiency requirements are far higher than those of the oil filter. The filter element of diesel engine is mainly made of filter paper, felt or polymer materials.
The diesel filter can also be divided into diesel oil-water separator and diesel fine filter. The important function of oil-water separator is to separate water from diesel oil. The existence of water is very harmful to the fuel supply system of diesel engine and the corrosion, wear, seizure and even deterioration of diesel combustion process. Due to the high sulfur content in Chinese diesel, when combustion occurs, it will even react with water to generate sulfuric acid, which will corrode engine components. The traditional dewatering method is mainly to precipitate through funnel structure. The engines with more than three levels of emissions in China have higher requirements for water separation, and high requirements require the use of high-performance filter media.
The diesel fine filter is used to filter the fine particles in diesel oil. The diesel engines with emissions above Grade III are mainly aimed at the filtering efficiency of 3-5 micron particles.
Gasoline filter
Gasoline filter can be divided into carburetor type and electronic injection type.
For gasoline engines using carburetors, the gasoline filter is located at the inlet side of the fuel transfer pump with low working pressure, usually with a nylon shell. For electronic injection engines, the gasoline filter is located at the outlet side of the fuel transfer pump with a high working pressure, usually with a metal shell. The filter element of gasoline filter is mainly made of filter paper, nylon cloth or polymer materials.
As the combustion mode of gasoline engine is different from that of diesel engine, the general requirements of gasoline filter are not as strict as that of diesel filter, so the price is cheap.
